Aster

Next on the white flower list is aster.  Actually, aster is a genus of flowers with many species. On the whole, asters put forth perky, happy-looking blooms with petals radiating out.  It's no surprise that its name comes from the Greek word for star.  Given Our Lady's identification with stars through her ancient title Our Lady Star of the Sea (Stella Maris), it would be good to incorporate asters in an arrangement for a Marian feast day.
