This early 11th century fresco is located in the crypt of the Hosios Loukas monastery in Boeotia, Greece. And yes even here, one finds Zaccheus in his sycamore tree.
It is interesting to pair this ancient fresco with the 19th century work below by James Tissot titled Procession in the Streets of Jerusalem.
And Tissot did not forget Zaccheus. Rather, Tissot portrayed him in a separate painting in the same medium entitled Zacchaeus in the Sycamore Awaiting the Passage of Jesus, also in the Brooklyn Museum.
