For the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (upcoming on August 15), as for all feasts of Our Lady, the liturgical color is white. It is not necessary to use white flowers but white flowers are often used.
According to an old English table of flowers, the herbs and flowers associated with this feast are rosemary, lavender, virgin's bower (wild clematis), roses, and lilies. (See Katherine Morrison McClinton, Flower Arrangement in the Church, 1944, pp. 44-47.)

These are wonderful posts Marie-Jacqueline. I will use them as inspiration for this Saturday's flowers!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gemma. I hope you will post your arrangements for Assumption and that all is going well with your new Traditional Latin Mass.
